Rough Smoky Quartz Crystal
This raw smoky quartz crystal has been cleaned but is otherwise untouched. It’s natural smoky quartz, not heated clear quartz.
The colour of smoky colour is caused primarily by natural radiation. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the colour to fade over time.
This smoky quartz crystal once had a twin crystal growing in the opposite direction, but the upper section is no longer present. The surface at the break is highly lustrous, suggesting it happened relatively recently in geological terms, as the fresh surface has not yet weathered or dulled.
In the second photo, if you look closely, you can see a third, smaller crystal embedded into the side of the main crystal.
The termination of the main crystal is in very good condition.
