Translucent Green Fluorite Pendant
Pretty fluorite pendant crafted in timeless sterling silver.
Fluorite is a fragile mineral that must be handled carefully. If knocked, it's likely to chip or fracture. This is because it is soft and cleaves in four directions.
The term cleavage is used to describe the way a crystalline solid splits along structural planes.
Fluorite is often known as the world's most colourful mineral. Although it occurs in almost any colour, shades of blue, green, yellow, and purple are most common.
This green fluorite pendant has been reduced because there's is a natural flaw in the bottom section of the crystal. This seems to have been caused by a surface-reaching fissure. It can seen in our second photograph but can hardly be felt.
