Finest grade Swiss Blue Topaz gemstone mounted in an eighteen carat white gold setting. The bale of this exquisite pendant carries our own SM hallmark from the London Assay Office.

This Swiss Blue Topaz gemstone has some very minor imperfections which can only be seen under strong magnification.  For this reason the pendant is being offered at a slightly reduced price.  In the unlikely event you're not happy with your purchase it may be returned for a full refund (T&C's apply).

Although topaz is one of the hardest natural minerals it's also very fragile. Topaz breaks easily along specific planes of weakness in its crystal structure.  This characteristic makes cutting and polishing more difficult. The edges of a blue topaz gemstone are particularly difficult to work with.

The eighteen carat white gold setting for this pendant has been crafted entirely by hand.

Although blue topaz does occur naturally it's extremely rare.  The vast majority is produced by heating white or colourless topaz.  Three shades of blue are produced.  Swiss Blue is not seen as often as Sky Blue and London Blue.

Many of the world's finest gemstones are heated in one way or another to improve colour or clarity.

Due to the way this Swiss Blue Topaz gemstone has been faceted it reflects light beautifully from every angle.
