Three beautiful lapis lazuli cabochon gemstones, cut from stone mined in Afghanistan.
All three gemstones have been beautifully polished.
The shade of blue in the round stone is lighter than the other two. The oval and marquise-shaped stones boast exceptional colour.
Distinctive inclusions of the mineral pyrite can be seen in all three gemstones.
Although these lapis lazuli stones could be used for jewellery, their high grade makes them more suitable as standalone pieces as part of a collection.
Lapis lazuli is often described as a mineral, but it's a metamorphic rock. Rocks and minerals are not the same.
These lapis lazuli stones are numbered 1 to 3, left to right.
