Lapis Lazuli Finest-Grade Tumbled Stones
These lapis lazuli crystals have exceptional colour and are beautifully polished.
They're produced from material mined at Sar-e Sang in the Badakhshan Province of northeast Afghanistan.
The mine where the lapis is found is on a steep, treacherous slope in the Hindu Kush Mountains. Lapis lazuli has been mined here for more than 6,500 years.
Lapis lazuli can be found in a few countries around the world, but the vast majority, and certainly the finest grade, comes from Afghanistan.
Although often described as a mineral, lapis lazuli is a metamorphic rock.
These beautiful lapis lazuli crystals are small tumbled stones, but size can vary from piece to piece.
