Lapis Lazuli Premium-Grade Tumbled Stones
These lapis lazuli crystals have exceptional colour and have been polished to a vitreous lustre.
They've been graded AA, so are one grade higher than these lapis lazuli tumbled stones in our collection. The main differences are the deeper colour, the inclusions, which are not quite as prominent, and the depth of polish.
They were tumbled from material mined at Sar-e Sang, Badakhshan Province, northeast Afghanistan.
These mines have been continually worked for more than 6,500 years and are believed to be the source of the lapis lazuli used in ancient Egypt.
These lapis lazuli crystals are sold as a medium-sized tumbled stone, but they are on the small side. As with most stones produced in a rock tumbler, size does vary from piece to piece.
