Deep Red Garnet Sterling Silver Ring
An unusually large red garnet ladies cocktail ring.
Garnets which have been found in Bronze Age excavations are believed to be one of the world's most ancient gemstones. Ancient Egyptian artisans are known to have created items of jewellery using this gemstone.
Red garnet was once included in the group of stones known as carbuncle. This ancient name described all blood-red coloured translucent gemstones that were cut as a cabochon. The name however referred particularly to garnet.
Garnets tend to be quite small so finding a stone of this size in this grade was quite exciting. It does have a couple of very minor flaws but these can only be seen with strong magnification.
This garnet ring has been crafted entirely by hand in fine sterling silver.
This ring is available in two sizes. One is very slightly larger than a UK size L, the other is slightly smaller than a Q. Please advise during checkout what size you would like.
