A highly polished, solid copper ball.
We have two of these copper balls available, one is very slightly heavier than the other.
Although often described as a mineral or a metallic mineral,
copper is a chemical element. It's represented by the symbol Cu on the Periodic Table.
The letters Cu come from the Latin name Cuprum. Copper was originally imported by the Roman Empire from Cyprus. It was called 'aes cyprium', meaning 'metal of Cyprus', but was later shortened to cuprum.
The
history of copper can be traced back at least 10,000 years.
Copper is highly resistant to corrosion
but does tarnish.
