Prehnite Crystals - Grade A
The mineral prehnite has a subtle pastel green colour. It's often found with distinctive black inclusions, which may be epidote, tourmaline, or amphibole. Prehnite classified as grade A is mostly inclusion-free.
Although brittle, prehnite is a relatively hard mineral that grades 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. It occurs in veins and cavities of certain volcanic rocks.
These larger-sized prehnite tumbled stones have the smoothest texture and reflect light beautifully. Size can vary from piece to piece, which is common for stones produced in a rock tumbler.
Prehnite is found in several countries, including the United Kingdom. Large quantities of gem-grade prehnite come from the Northern Territories in Australia. These tumbled stones are from Namibia.
We also have grade-A prehnite crystals in size medium, and prehnite with a distinctive inclusion.
