Miniature Sodalite Terminated Points
Two freestanding sodalite terminated points cut from stone mined in Brazil.
The greyish-white colour in sodalite is believed to come from impurities of calcite or feldspar.
Sodalite was found in the ruins of the pre-Columbian Bolivian city of Tiahuanaco. It was first classified as a mineral in 1811.
It often occurs with the mineral lazurite, which gives lapis lazuli its blue colour.
Some of the finest sodalite comes from Canada, the USA and Russia.
These two miniature sodalite points are being sold as a pair.
