Fluorite is a soft and fragile mineral that chips and fractures easily.
The mineral's colours are best appreciated when it's held up to the light.
Fluorite carvings from China are often heat-treated, which enhances the colours. This material is often sold as 'Candy Fluorite' or 'Watermelon Fluorite.'
When positioning fluorite, it's best to avoid natural light and excessive heat because prolonged exposure may cause colours to fade.
