Rough Green Fluorite Crystal
A small rough piece of green fluorite that we came across on our travels.
This translucent green fluorite crystal has had nothing done to it at all.
Often known as the world's most colourful mineral, fluorite occurs in many colours. Red, purple, green and yellow tend to be the most common. In its purest form fluorite is colourless.
Geologists do not know for certain what causes the colour in green fluorite.
The colour is not stable so will gradually fade with exposure to sunlight.
