Amethyst Geodes from Uruguay
These five amethyst geodes were individually chosen for our collection.
Although large geodes are impressive and often make a statement, smaller geodes can be just as beautiful.
These amethyst geodes have deep purple-coloured crystals, which look far more beautiful when the geode is in your hand.
Amethyst geodes should be positioned away from natural daylight to prevent the crystals from fading.
Most of the finest amethyst geodes come from Brazil. Millions of years ago, volcanic activity created massive lava flows in this region. As the lava cooled, gas bubbles trapped inside formed hollow pockets which slowly filled with mineral-rich fluids.
Over long periods of time, the fluids crystallised, forming magnificent terminated crystals.
