Rhodonite Crystals Grade B Stones
These rhodonite crystals are a slightly smaller-sized stone. They're classed as grade B because they're heavily included.
Black inclusions from manganese oxides are relatively common in the mineral rhodonite.
Inclusions in rhodonite often occur as dendrites. These are crystals with a branching form, so can look similar to organic matter. The word 'dendrite' comes from the Greek 'dendron', meaning 'tree'.
The inclusions can also occur as veins or fracture fillings in the mineral or even be part of the matrix. The matrix is the host rock or material in which the rhodonite forms.
As well as being widely used for decorative purposes, rhodonite crystals are also used for their metaphysical properties.
We also have rhodonite crystals from Pakistan, Russia, and Mozambique.
The size of these rhodonite crystals can vary from piece to piece.
