In their purest form, quartz crystals are colourless and transparent. The presence of impurities causes a wide variety of colours.
Impurities can also cause a crystal to become slightly cloudy or virtually opaque with no significant change in colour.
These subtly included quartz crystals, often known as Ice Quartz, are relatively translucent. They exhibit a slightly off-white colour.
Being highly polished with a vitreous lustre, they have a glass-like appearance and texture.
Although classed as a large sized tumbled stone, size can vary from piece to piece.
