Quartz Crystal Included with Rutile
This large and chunky quartz crystal is really quite spectacular. Sadly it's not possible to capture its true magnificence in a photo.
Some of the inclusions within the quartz cause fascinating iridescence. It's also included with fine crystals of black rutile.
There is a very small filling of resin (half a millimetre in size) on one side close to the base. Crystals like this are so beautiful it's easy to forget they're millions of years old. The filling can just be seen on the lower left side in our first photo.
As with most quartz crystals this piece has been lightly polished so as not to lose more material than absolutely necessary.
