Pink Opal Finest Grade Crystals (Peru)
The colour of these small to medium sized pink opal crystals varies from almost white to a slightly richer shade of pink.
Pink opal is from the same family of stones as precious opal. The main difference is it doesn't exhibit 'play of colour'.
Opal is made up of hardened silica gel. It contains five to ten percent water in pores so small they're difficult to see even when magnified.
Pink opal is also known as 'potch'. It's a variety of Common Opal. Most of the world's opals are Common Opal.
These fine grade pink opal crystals are exceptionally tactile and reflect light beautifully. They're classed as grade A stones because they're mostly inclusion free.
We also have these grade A pink opal tumbled stones.
