Bumblebee Jasper Stone Sphere
A finely polished, AAA-grade Bumblebee Jasper sphere from Indonesia.
Bumblebee Jasper is a sedimentary rock with a vibrant yellow colour. Scientific testing has confirmed the yellow is from sulphur.
This striking stone, found near Mount Papandayan, Java, Indonesia, is relatively rare.
Bumblebee Jasper, which is not a true jasper, is a trade name for a calcite-rich sedimentary rock.
Formed from volcanic ash, mud, and sulphur-rich layers, Bumblebee Jasper also contains realgar, an arsenic sulphide. However, once polished, it's completely safe to handle.
With most known sources now depleted, the finest grade material has become increasingly difficult to find.
A beautiful Bumblebee Jasper sphere with exceptional colour.
