Bumblebee Jasper Stone Sphere
A highly polished, AAA-grade Bumblebee Jasper sphere from Indonesia.
Bumblebee Jasper is a sedimentary rock with a vibrant yellow colour. Scientific testing has confirmed that the yellow is from sulphur.
This material, found only near Mount Papandayan in Java, Indonesia, is relatively rare.
Despite its name, Bumblebee Jasper is not a true jasper. It’s a trade name for a calcite-rich sedimentary rock.
Formed from volcanic ash, mud, and sulphur-rich layers, Bumblebee Jasper also contains realgar, an arsenic sulphide. However, once polished, it's completely safe to handle.
With most known sources now depleted, this grade has become increasingly difficult to find.
A beautiful Bumblebee Jasper sphere with exceptional colour.
