Orange Calcite is a common mineral found worldwide. It's very soft, so must be handled carefully.
The base colour can range from pale yellow-orange to deep, rich orange. It's very common to see bands, swirls, or cloud-like inclusions of white, which are usually pure calcite (which is colourless to white in its natural form).
The vibrant orange colour in these orange calcite crystals comes from microscopic inclusions of hematite, a natural iron oxide, scattered throughout the stone. Areas with less hematite appear white or paler.
Some of these tumbled stones exhibit natural banding, formed by layers of calcite deposited over time.
These premium-grade orange calcite crystals are classed as a large tumbled stone, but size can vary from piece to piece. This is common for stones produced in a rock tumbler, as opposed to those cut and polished by hand.
Because of the size difference, we have split them into medium and large.
If buying 10, 20, or 30 stones, sizes will be mixed.
