Polka dot agate, which tends to be translucent, is known for its distinctive round markings.
It occurs mostly in shades of bluish-white, yellow or brown. The spots can be any combination of yellow, orange, red, brown or black.
Polka dot agate, found in central Oregon, was first mined by Native American Indians.
With this polished cabochon having been finely cut, the pendant is surprisingly lightweight. It was crafted by hand by a small team of artisans with whom we worked for many years.
