Ruby Zoisite Crystals (Tanzania)
Ruby zoisite, a relatively rare stone, is a combination of green zoisite and red corundum with inclusions of pargasite or tschermakite, which belong to the hornblende group of minerals.
These grade-B ruby zoisite crystals have a slightly rougher texture. When gently moved in ambient light, minute sparkling crystals can be seen.
Size varies from piece to piece but they're medium-sized tumbled stones. We also have AAA-grade ruby zoisite tumbled stones in our collection.
The finer-grade stones have exceptional colour and are beautifully polished.
Ruby zoisite is also known as ruby in zoisite, which is a more accurate description of what it is. Although used primarily for decorative purposes, it can be difficult to work with because of the difference in hardness between the zoisite and corundum.
