Lemuruian Quartz Crystals
Four premium-grade Lemurian Quartz crystals from Brazil.
The crystal on the left in our first photo has a long, slender shape, whereas the other three are shorter and much chunkier.
In one of our photos, Lemurian Quartz crystal 1 is shown standing upright, but it doesn't stand in that position without support.
Crystals 2 and 3 do stand upright on their own.
All four crystals are highly translucent, although number 1 is more heavily included.
The striations often used to identify Lemurian Quartz are clearly visible on crystals 2, 3 and 4. Although present on crystal 1, they’re far more subtle.
These grooves or ladder-like markings are believed to form as the crystal grows, possibly because of an interruption, change in temperature or pressure, or an interaction with other minerals.
Lemurian Quartz, highly sought after for its metaphysical healing properties, is believed to be linked to the mythical kingdom of Lemuria. According to legend, the Lemurians foresaw a cataclysmic event and stored their knowledge within these ‘record-keeper’ crystals.
Despite the similarity often seen in colourless quartz crystals, no two pieces are ever the same. These four Lemurian Quartz crystals each exhibit their own unique characteristics, from variations in clarity and inclusions to the presence and prominence of striations
This article in our blog discusses Lemurian Quartz in more detail.
