Grade A Lapis Lazuli Cabochon
A really beautiful lapis lazuli gem-grade stone from our collection of rocks and minerals.
This piece has been finely polished and exhibits the most spectacular colour.
Although it could be used in a piece of jewellery it could also be enjoyed just as it is.
This cabochon-shaped stone has the smoothest texture so is wonderfully tactile.
Most of the world's lapis lazuli and certainly the finest grade material comes from the Sar-i-Sang mines in the Badakhshan Province of north eastern Afghanistan. We stopped buying lapis lazuli some years ago after the Taliban took control of the mines.
All of the lapis we currently have in our collection was purchased prior to 2010.
