Noreena Jasper Polished Gemstone
An exceptionally colourful and beautifully polished noreena jasper gem-grade stone.
Noreena jasper which is a relatively new find comes from the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Its striking colour comes from iron oxides. The Pilbara region is well known for its vast mineral deposits and for its red coloured earth.
Noreena jasper is a type of mudstone but very little geological information exists regarding its chemical make-up.
This colourful noreena jasper has been cut as a cabochon so the front is subtly rounded and the back is flat. The back is unpolished.
