Dumortierite on Quartz from Brazil

Rough dumortierite on quartz in different shapes and sizes.  This stone has been washed but otherwise has not been touched.

Dumortierite on quartz features blue dumortierite crystals on the mineral quartz.  

In many of these rough pieces the quartz crystals are sandwiched between two layers of dumortierite. The stone was mined in Brazil and is sold according to weight. 

The red staining on some of the quartz will be from impurities of iron.
