Blue Lace Agate from Namibia
Blue Lace Agate rough stone from the original Ysterputs mine, Karasburg West, Southern Namibia. This mine is no longer being worked, having closed some years ago. Blue lace from Ysterputs is now highly sought after by collectors, and most available material is already in circulation.
Blue Lace Agate is characterised by its blue colour and subtle white bands. It's a variety of the mineral chalcedony.
With the deposit in Namibia now closed, most Blue Lace Agate comes from Malawi and Zambia, but the quality is rarely the same.
Although it can look similar to blue agate, which is more common, it's not the same stone.
These premium-grade Blue Lace Agate stones boast excellent colour. Material of this grade is not easy to find.
Please bear in mind, this is rough stone.
