Blue Topaz Pendant Concave Cut
An elegant Sky Blue Topaz pendant crafted by hand in a fine sterling silver setting. The bale of the pendant features our own SM hallmark from the London Assay Office.
This blue topaz gemstone has been faceted with a concave cut. This cut uses long, curved facets that scatter more light towards the centre of the stone.
Topaz cut in this way weighs slightly less because so much of the stone is lost.
Cutting concave facets is labour-intensive and complicated, but the result is impressive. Unfortunately, brilliance is not easy to capture in a photograph.
Despite being one of the hardest minerals, topaz is not easy to work with because it chips easily, which makes cutting and polishing more difficult.
This Sky Blue Topaz pendant may be purchased with or without one of our Italian-made, sterling silver snake chains.
