Authentic Tanzanite - Unheated Stones
These rough, unheated tanzanite stones were an exciting find.
Tanzanite, a variety of the mineral zoisite, can only be found in Tanzania.
Said to be rarer than diamonds, it's renowned for its blue-to-violet colour, but most tanzanite is heated.
Heating enhances the shade and depth of colour and removes unwanted hues of brown, yellow and black.
All tanzanite is considered heated unless stated otherwise.
These tanzanite stones have been cleaned and filed to smooth rough edges, but are otherwise untouched.
