Large Rose Quartz Stones

Medium and Large/extra large rough rose quartz from Namibia.

The colour of these grade A stones is a mid-shade of pink.  Although rough they have been protected with a fine resin which gives them a  slightly vitreous lustre.

Rose quartz is a popular variety of quartz used primarily for decorative purposes.  When used as a gemstone it's rarely faceted.  This is because when cut, rose quartz has a slightly cloudy appearance. 

The colour of rose quartz has puzzled scientists for many years.  It's now widely believed to be caused by the presence of microscopic fibrous inclusions related to the mineral dumortierite.

When used for its metaphysical healing properties rose quartz is known as the stone of unconditional love.  It can be used for all matters relating to the heart and is a great stone to give as a token of friendship.
