Rose quartz is a pink variety of the mineral quartz. The exact shade can vary depending on where the stone was mined.
The colour of rose quartz is generally believed to be stable, so it shouldn't fade if exposed to UV light. That said, some varieties are known to have lost colour after extensive exposure to bright sunlight.
