It was first introduced to the world in 2002 at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in the USA.

Despite claims that it was a natural stone, chemical analysis soon proved otherwise.

Rainbow calsilica has remained popular and is widely used for decorative purposes.

This striking cabochon has been mounted in a fine sterling silver setting.
