Raw Mookaite with Rich, Vibrant Colour
Rough mookaite, also known as mookaite jasper, carefully chosen for our collection of rocks and minerals.
Mookaite can only be found in one location in Western Australia.
The stone's colours come from varying types and concentrations of iron oxides.
Although usually pronounced 'mookite,' the correct pronunciation should be 'mooka~ite' because the stone is named after Mooka Creek, where it's found.
These rough mookaite stones have an incredibly smooth texture and a dull lustre, which means they absorb light instead of reflecting it.
This rough mookaite can be purchased as a single stone or in lots of 100g, 200g, 300g and 400g. The number of pieces depends on size.
100g equates to 5 to 6 small/medium size stones.
