Natural Citrine from South Africa - AAA Grade
Beautiful natural citrine polished stones from South Africa. These highly translucent crystals boast exceptional colour. Some are more translucent than others. No two pieces are the same.
Natural citrine is relatively rare, so most commercial-grade stones are amethyst that's been heated.
Although the mineral citrine is often expected to be distinctively yellow, the shade can vary significantly. The exact cause of its colour is still not known for certain.
The colour is generally believed to be associated with impurities of aluminium and exposure to radiation. Iron may also be a contributing factor, although many questions remain unanswered.
These AAA-grade natural citrine crystals are available in three sizes. Some are shaped like a traditional tumbled stone, while others are long and slender.
In this grade, we were only able to obtain a relatively small quantity.
