Large Mookaite Polished Sphere

Highly polished mookaite sphere with a blend of rich warm colours.

This sphere weighs just over a kilo and is standing on a polished hematite ring.  The ring makes an ideal support for spheres of most sizes.  It's not included but may be purchased separately.

Mookaite which comes from Western Australia is an Australian Jasper.  Soon after being discovered it was named by locals for identification purposes.

Although never officially registered, the name Mookaite is now widely recognised around the world.

Named after Mooka Creek where the stone is found, the correct pronunciation should be mooka~ite.

Hues of red, orange, green and yellow can be seen in this sphere along with a small splash of blue.  Blue is relatively rare in any type of jasper.
