Ice Quartz Tumbled Stones from Brazil
Quartz is a chemical compound of silicon and oxygen, the two most abundant elements in Earth's crust. It can be found in every geological environment and forms at all temperatures.
In its purest form, quartz is colourless and transparent, but impurities can cause a wide variety of colours.
Impurities can also cause a crystal to become slightly cloudy or virtually opaque with no significant change in colour.
These subtly included quartz crystals, known as Ice Quartz, are relatively translucent. They exhibit a slightly off-white colour.
Being highly polished with a vitreous lustre, they have a glass-like appearance and texture.
Although classed as larger-sized tumbled stones, size can vary from piece to piece. This is common for stones produced in a rock tumbler.
