Lemon quartz does not occur naturally. It's produced by heating amethyst, smoky quartz or low-grade natural citrine.
The practice of heating stones to enhance or change the colour was first documented by the ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus.
Most of the world's finest gemstones are heated to improve colour or clarity.
Although the colour of this lemon quartz is very subtle, the gemstone reflects light beautifully from almost every angle.
This pendant may be purchased with or without one of our fine sterling silver snake chains. Manufactured in Italy, they're 1mm thick and are available in 16" and 18" lengths.
