Jasper is a variety of chalcedony, which is a form of microcrystalline quartz.
Although Zebra Jasper is best known for its bold black and white banding, the white markings in this particular gemstone are more subtle.
Only the front of this finely cut cabochon has been polished.
Its relative hardness makes it particularly suitable for use in jewellery.
