Kambaba Jasper from Madagascar
Four beautifully polished Kambaba Jasper cabochons. Unlike other Kambaba Jasper cabochons in our collection, these stones are fully polished.
Kambaba Jasper, also known as Crocodile Jasper can only be found in Madagascar. Despite often being described as a stromatolite, its origin is in fact volcanic.
Unfortunately, there's a significant amount of geologically inaccurate information in circulation regarding this stone.
Each Kambaba Jasper cabochon has bee polished to a vitreous lustre, so reflects light beautifully. Their exceptionally smooth texture also makes them incredibly tactile.
The stones are numbered 1 to 4. Numbers 1 and 2 are the stones in our first two photos, and 3 and 4 are in the second two.
The bottom of stone 3 has some minor damage on two edges on the base of the cabochon. The imperfections are not visible from the top of the stone. For this reason, this stone is being offered at a reduced price.
