Raw Mookaite - Rich, Vibrant Colour
Rough mookaite, also known as mookaite jasper, although from a geological perspective, that's incorrect.
Mookaite can only be found in one location in Western Australia.
Its colour comes from varying types and concentrations of iron oxides.
Although usually pronounced 'mookite,' the correct pronunciation should be 'mooka~ite' because it's named after Mooka Creek, where it's found.
These rough mookaite stones have an incredibly smooth texture and a dull lustre, meaning they only reflect a minimum amount of light.
Being rough stone, size does vary from piece to piece.
