Red Calcite Rough Stones
Striking red calcite rough stones from our collection of rocks and minerals.
The deep reddish-brown colour in this type of calcite is believed to come from impurities of iron oxides.
Calcite is a relatively soft and fragile mineral, so decorative material tends to be coated with a fine layer of colourless resin. This offers some protection against flaking and crumbling.
These stones have a vitreous lustre because the resin reflects light.
We only have 9 of these rough red calcite stones left available. Each piece was individually chosen.
