Polished Malachite from Namibia
A highly polished, premium-grade malachite stone, carefully chosen for our collection.
The stone shows different shades of colour on both sides, and distinctive markings on the top, bottom, and sides.
Being polished to a vitreous lustre, it reflects light beautifully.
Look closely, and you'll find concentric "eyes" and fine banding, the patterns malachite forms as it grows layer upon layer. A natural seam runs across the top surface on one side, giving this piece its own character.
When magnified, this polished malachite reveals a fine, scale-like pattern, with some areas appearing distinctly fibrous. These subtle details, which are difficult to see with the naked eye, are not seen very often.
Malachite is a soft stone (3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale), so keep it away from harder crystals and ensure it remains dry.
