Elite Shungite - Extra-Large Sizes
Elite shungite originates from the world's original and largest deposit in Karelia, northwest Russia.
This type contains the highest percentage of carbon, between 90 - 98%.
A carbon-rich material discovered quite recently in Colombia is now also being sold as 'elite shungite'. The two stones can look very similar.
Elite shungite is a trade name for material with the highest percentage of carbon. As yet, there is not enough scientific data to confirm exactly what Colombian 'shungite' is.
Although it appears to be a carbon-based stone, differences that have been identified suggest its chemical composition is not the same as shungite from Karelia.
