Finest Grade Angelite Polished Sphere

Medium sized angelite sphere cut from the finest grade stone. 

Angelite is a trade name for blue coloured anhydrite from Peru.  Blue anhydrate from any other location should be referred to as blue anhydrite.

The name anhydrite comes from Greek for "without water."  This is because the mineral's crystal structure contains no water molecules. When exposed to water or high levels of humidity angelite (blue anhydrite) will gradually turn into gypsum.

When gypsum is exposed to water or moisture it can be converted back to anhydrite.

If using Angelite for its healing properties it must not be cleansed with water.  It should also be kept away from moisture. 

This striking Angelite sphere has been beautifully polished. It has a silky texture which makes it incredibly tactile. 

It may be purchased with or without the hematite stand.  These hematite rings are ideal for displaying mineral spheres of most sizes.  Hematite is a relatively hard mineral but also brittle.  If dropped or knocked it will chip or worse still, shatter. 

Anglite is also a soft mineral so must be handled carefully.
