Angelite Blue Variety of the Mineral Anhydrate
An Introduction to Angelite
Angelite is a delicate blue coloured stone that's mainly used in conjunction with alternative therapies such as crystal healing. Angelite is a trade name for the mineral anhydrate, an important rock forming mineral that's a type of calcium sulphate. The name comes from the Greek word 'anhydros' meaning 'waterless' because it has no water in its crystal structure. Although the mineral anhydrate occurs in many colours including white, grey, blue, lilac, pink and red, only stones in shades of blue or lilac are entitled to be called angelite.
A relatively soft stone angelite grades just 3½ on Mohs scale of mineral hardness and is also brittle so must be handled with care. The stone can be found in various locations around the world including Germany, Poland, Canada, America, Peru and Mexico.
Angelite Healing Properties
In crystal healing angelite is a protective stone which enhances telepathic communication, dispels anger, treats inflammation and can gently help with weight control. The heart of its healing ability is concentrated around peacefulness and it's said to be excellent for the promotion of both astrological and mathematical understanding and comprehension.
Angelite enables astral journeys to take place whilst remaining in touch with reality. Its powerful healing ability encourages truth, alleviates psychological pain and can help ease anxiety and stress by forming a protective field around the environment in which it's placed.
Angelite is the healer's stone because it heightens perception and deepens understanding. It helps increase compassion, alleviates psychological pain and can create a deep feeling of peace, inner calmness and serenity.
