Angelite Stone | Meaning and Properties
About the Gemstone Angelite
Angelite is a trade name for the mineral anhydrate an important rock forming mineral that's a type of calcium sulphate. The name comes from the Greek word 'anhydros' meaning 'waterless' because it has no water in its crystal structure. Although anhydrate occurs in many colours including white, grey, blue, lilac, pink and red, only stones in shades of blue or lilac are entitled to be called angelite.
In crystal healing angelite is known to be a protective stone which enhances telepathic communication, dispels anger, treats inflammation and helps with weight control. The heart of its healing ability is concentrated around peacefulness and it's said to be excellent for the promotion of both astrological and mathematical understanding and comprehension. Angelite enables astral journeys to take place whilst still in touch with reality and it's a powerful healing crystal which encourages truth, alleviates psychological pain and can help to ease anxiety and stress by forming a protective field around the environment in which it's placed.
Graded just 3½ on Mohs scale of mineral hardness means that angelite is relatively soft and also brittle so stones must be handled with care. It can be found in various locations around the world including Germany, Poland, Canada, America, Peru and Mexico.
