Seraphinite Pendant | Reduced
Seraphinite pendant featuring an exquisite polished cabochon mounted in a hand crafted sterling silver setting. Seraphinite is a relatively rare mineral that can only be found in one location in Russia. Fine grade gemstones are easily recognisable due to their rich green colour and distinctive white markings which are inclusions of the mineral mica. These often radiate outwards which gives the stone a feather-like appearance which some say bears a resemblance to the wings of an angel and for this reason, in the world of crystal healing seraphine has become synonymous with heavenly beings and in particular angels.
Belonging to the group of minerals known as clinochlore, seraphinite is a trade name for the material that's used primarily for lapidary purposes. It is however very soft and grades just 2 to 2½ on Mohs scale of mineral hardness so to put that into perspective, just slightly lower on the scale at 1 is the clay mineral talc which is used to make talcum powder. Seraphinite can certainly be enjoyed for the beautiful gemstone that it is providing it's well looked after.
The reason this seraphinite pendant has been added to our Bargain Basement is because the cabochon that we chose is not symmetrical although you will need to have a keen eye to notice this imperfection. It's a beautiful and well crafted accessory and if you're not bothered about the stone being a perfect shape you may just have found yourself an unbeatable bargain.
