Sodalite Crystals (orange)
Royal blue sodalite crystals or tumbled stones however you prefer to refer to them. These eye-catching stones boast a splash of orange colour and are AAA grade . Highly polished and exceptionally tactile, they're available to to buy individually or in larger quantities.
A distinctive blue mineral that was first discovered in 1806 during the Napoleonic war when a large quantity was sent to Denmark from Greenland. Although sodalite is not particularly rare, it's a material that few people are familiar despite it being widely used as a lapidary material.
Originally named because of its high sodium content, sodalite is relatively light yet a surprisingly hard mineral which grades 5½ to 6 on Mohs scale of mineral hardness. Despite its hardness it's also brittle which can at times make cutting quite difficult. The bluer varieties of sodalite have been known to be sold as fake lapis lazuli because as well as being more readily available, it's also considerably cheaper.
These beautiful sodalite crystals are ideal for use in alternative therapies such as crystal healing or they could also be used to create a colourful display.
