What is Orthoclase?


Orthoclase is a type of feldspar that's graded 6 on Mohs scale of mineral hardness.  An abundant rock forming mineral it's found in most varieties of granite and can be identified as the pink coloured crystals.

The popular lapidary material known as moonstone is made up primarily of orthoclase.
