Another impressive polished quartz point from our collection of crystals, rocks and minerals.
This transparent piece of quartz has a vitreous lustre and boasts fascinating areas of crystallisation. Colourless quartz that's also translucent or transparent is also known as rock crystal. Despite often having very similar characteristics no two terminated quartz points will ever be the same which is part of the beauty of natural rocks and minerals. The problem with colourless varieties of the mineral quartz however is that it can be very challenging to photograph well even for the most accomplished photographer.
Quartz formations generally take thousands of years to grow and sometimes considerably longer. When polished they can be quite spectacular and terminated points and clusters are popular with mineral enthusiasts, collectors and those with an interest in crystal healing.
There are some tiny imperfections on the largest face of this terminated quartz point but part of the beauty of natural minerals is that they're rarely ever perfect. In crystal healing minerals with 'imperfections' irrespective of how they've been caused are known empathic warriors and they're amongst some of the strongest in relation to energy. This is because they are said to have come through their own battles and are still beautiful enough to attract our attention and many people are drawn particularly towards crystals with 'battle scars'. Quartz is considered to be one of the most powerful of all healing crystals and quartz with a terminated point can either draw energy away from the body or channel it inwards.
