Geode Lined with Sparkling Quartz Crystals
Quartz geode's come in many different shapes and sizes but this is a particularly interesting piece. A distinctive horn-like shape with a cavity that's lined with subtle pink coloured sparkling crystals, it catches the light beautifully and would make a great addition to any collection of rocks and minerals.
The word geode refers to a large open rock with a cavity that's lined most commonly with quartz crystals but calcite, pyrite, celestite or opal are also relatively common. The exterior shell is usually made up from the mineral chalcedony which is a cryptocrystalline variety of quartz.
