Quartz geode's come in many shapes and sizes but this one is particularly interesting. Boasting a distinctive horn-like shape with a cavity that's lined with subtle pink coloured cystals, it catches the light beautifully and would make an eye-catching display piece.
The word geode refers to a large open rock with a cavity that's lined most commonly with quartz crystals but calcite, pyrite, celestite or opal are also relatively common. The exterior shell is usually the mineral chalcedony which is a cryptocrystalline variety of quartz.
